Queensland Metals is currently seeking a Superintendent Concentrator Projects within our Surface Engineering team. The Surface Engineering Concentrator Projects team covers an extensive asset portfolio including a Copper Concentrator, Zinc Lead Concentrator, water infrastructure, and utilities projects. YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLSET AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Strong leadership, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills that remain focused on delivery of capital projects
• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and operationally, with the ability to articulate a clear vision through procedures, team engagement and stakeholder management
• Strong experience in the planning and execution of capital projects
• Strong experience in project management processes, and the development of short, medium and long term strategies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence operational stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds and practice areas
• Clear, concise and open communication internally and externally
• Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil/Structural engineering or related field. RPEQ Preferred RPEQ qualification
• 7-10 years industry experience with at least 2 years leading teams. Desirable to have led teams directly responsible for capital portfolio delivery

THE ROLE

The Superintendent Concentrator Projects is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to plan, execute and deliver capital projects, and develop short, medium and long term strategies in line with business plans.
This position will work collaboratively across all levels of the organization to enable effective communication, stakeholder engagement and risk management to deliver the assigned projects. The role requires leadership of a professional team across mechanical and electrical engineering, and project supervision resources. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. The position is a permanent position, based residentially in Mount Isa on a 5/2 | 4/3 lifestyle roster and of course the family and community benefits of living locally.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Building strong and trusted relationships with Queensland Metals line departments and external stakeholders
• Actively seeking opportunities to promote and reinforce a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Effective planning and resourcing of project works, while balancing stakeholder support requirements
• Delivery and communication of the annual capital portfolio, and development of short, medium and long term strategies for future years
• Lead a team of professionals to deliver project support and technical assistance to the Concentrator departments
• Provide effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning of team personnel
