Responsibilities:

FLINT IS GROWING AND IS LOOKING FOR A SUPERINTENDENT FOR ITS FABRICATION SHOP IN SHERWOOD PARK, AB. YOU WILL BE INSTRUMENTAL IN EXECUTING SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS AND HAVE A KEEN EYE FOR SAFETY, QUALITY, SCHEDULE, AND COST. THIS ROLE DEFINES THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH TURNAROUND AND/OR CONSTRUCTION MANAGERS.

You will be responsible for providing overall fabrication leadership, including coaching and mentoring of employees while effectively managing projects, sub-trades and client demands. You will demonstrate a client-centred approach to building and maintaining positive relationships to drive successful outcomes and achieve client target dates. In a diverse and competitive environment, you will partner with others to provide a safe, effective, and high standard of service delivery. You will always perform work and ensure adherence to FLINT’s core values and exemplary ethical standards. You will mentor other employees as needed to share knowledge, develop skills, and build bench strength. WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

  • Coordinate and oversee safe and effective day-to-day operations within assigned fabrication projects.
  • Act as a liaison between shop crews and FLINT Management.
  • Develop, oversee, and maintain project schedules, adhering to timelines and milestones.
  • Estimate labour needs for projects and manage employee resourcing requirements.
  • Facilitate and coordinate subcontractor activities, ensuring alignment with fabrication scopes and specifications.
  • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure all details are completed as outlined in the scope of work, maintaining high-quality standards and project integrity.
  • Lead, implement, and comply with corporate, environmental, and safety programs executing FLINT’s Safety Management System (SMS).
