About the role
The Superintendent Health, Safety and Training role offers an exceptional opportunity to supporting the Sustainability Manager to establish, implement, apply and review the Red Lake Operations (RLO) Safety & Health Management System including Mine Training Scheme, Mine Emergency Management Plan and response capability, and Site Security, through provision ofvisible felt leadership, coaching/mentoring and expert advice to operational departments and subordinates.
The position will be on an 5/2/4/3 (9.5 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Assists with the annual strategic and tactical planning for the Sustainability function, facilitating the development and implementation of performance metrics, work programs
Assist with annual budgeting process (CAPEX & OPEX) and ensure costs are managed to meet budget expectations
Supervises and coaches’ direct reports providing career development, planning and pathways, lead by example, setting clear expectations, reviewing work regularly and providing meaningful feedback. Hold self and team members to account and appropriately recognise effort

About you
As the Superintendent Health Safety and Training, you will have a Post Secondary education at a college or University level with a focus on Occupational Health & Safety, combined with experience in a relevant field including but not limited to Health, Safety, and Training. CRSP designation preferred is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide day to day operational leadership to ensure Safety & Health Management Systems are established, implemented, effective, monitored and reviewed including but not limited to:
Legislative Compliance
Safety & Risk Management
Hazard identification and control methodology
Operational risk management (CRM, JSA, WRAC, SOP, SWI, etc). and control
Contractor Management
Management of Change
Incident management and investigations
Training Management
Training Management Scheme/Plan development implementation, monitoring and review
Training Management System (TMS) and Learning Management System (LMS) management including training needs analysis, skill needs analysis, development of training plans and packages, records management, reporting, auditing, and continuous improvement activities
Health, Occupational Hygiene, Injury Management and Wellbeing Management
Collaborate and support the site Occupational Health Team on items such as:
Chemical substances management
Occupational Hygiene management
Co-ordination of occupational hygiene monitoring programs
Employee training and awareness of occupational hygiene and PPE selection & fitment
Coordination of the RLO medical surveillance programs
Emergency & Security Management
Collaborate and support the RLO Emergency Response Coordinator and ERT on items such as:
Emergency Management Plan development, implementation, monitoring and review
Incident Management Team – preparedness and training
Inclusive of all supporting systems, reporting, administration, and area access management
Fitness for work testing
