About the role
Reporting to the Processing Manager, this role is responsible for optimizing the gold recovery process through processing plant optimization and effective cost management. Ensuring all metallurgical and laboratory staff are functioning in a safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible manner to achieve cost-efficient gold production. Leading the metallurgy department by providing support to other departments across the site when required to ensure productivity objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities:

Developing, communicating, and implementing the weekly and monthly ore treatment plan.
Ensuring expenditure on production consumables and reagents aligns with the operating cost budget.
Completing metallurgical accounting and reporting in a timely manner.
Monitoring and ensuring key plant operating parameters achieve or exceed targets.
Providing technical support to the processing team to assist in achieving the annual production budget.
Reviewing, managing, and improving metallurgical performance to meet targets.
Implementing and maintaining short and medium-term production planning to provide accurate and detailed forecasts.
Liaising and cooperating with maintenance and processing personnel to ensure optimum plant performance.
Demonstrating behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values.

About you
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. You should have experience in metalliferous processing, with experience in a supervisory role.. Candidates must have operational experience with SABC grinding, gravity recovery, flotation, CIL, and AARL elution circuits, along with awareness of relevant dangerous goods legislation and cyanide code. Key competencies include leading and supervising, work standards, working with people, adhering to principles and values, writing and reporting, analysing, planning, and organizing, follow-up, accuracy, and attention to detail.
