THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a Supervisor, External Resource Management to join our Garson Mine team in Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 8-hours, dayshift.
As a Supervisor, External Resource Management you will assist in the coordination of maintenance and operations work to be performed at the site and serve as a liaison between mine personnel and external resources performing the work. With your experience and skills, you’ll manage contracts and the associated cost routines and optimize the management of all external resources required to support plant project/maintenance/operations work and integrate the work at the plant level.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Understand the scope of the contract to ensure the proper contract/contractor is utilized before scheduling a contractor to perform work.
  • Coordinate contractor requirements for the Plant. Support the service demand planning of projects and continuous contracts.
  • Monitor Contractor work approvals, site access, quality, efficiency, qualifications, and safety.
  • Perform Kickoff meetings and PHRs, JHAs, Lift Plans, as required for safe execution by Contractors.
  • Review, validate, and sign off on Contractor Invoices that services have been received.
  • Perform Contractor audits for Quality, Qualifications, contract compliance, and audit invoices.
  • Assist with Equipment/Material rentals associated with maintenance work.
  • Develop scopes of work for plant-specific non-continuous contract requirements. Support the Contract Management Office during continuous service contract scope development, demand planning, and issue management of continuous service contracts.
  • Understand and access plant budget and contract spending information. Understand business value regarding contracts and contract management at the plant.

EDUCATION:

  • Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency with equivalent experience is required.
  • College diploma in a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
  • Previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset.

SKILLS:

  • Understanding of and practical application of contracts and contract language.
  • Understanding of commercial contract terms.
  • Ability to translate technical and commercial terms into simplified language for stakeholder understanding.
  • Ability to stablish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
