Reporting to the department superintendent, your role is critical to the success and culture of the mobile maintenance department.
This position offers a key leadership role for Fortescue’s Eliwana’s Mobile Maintenance team, responsible for leading and mentoring a team to safely deliver world class fleet availability and reliability across Fortescue’s Mining Equipment Fleet.
You will establish and maintain a workplace culture lead by our values and willingly adapt to innovative technology and learn new disciplines to consistently promote excellence through application of values and visual leadership.
Fortescue recently unveiled its roadmap to becoming the world’s first heavy industry company to go green by 2030, aiming to eliminate fossil fuel use and achieve real zero emissions (scope 1 and 2) across our iron ore operations. Eliwana will be the first operation in Fortescue and the world to shift to green iron operations. Your role will include support of the role out of green fleet technology and adapting the maintenance team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Trade Recognised – Heavy Deisel, Auto Electrician
  • Extensive large fleet mobile maintenance supervisory experience on a mine site working with
  • A proven ability to coach, mentor and train teams in a changing environment with reference to innovative technology and systems of work.
  • Experience in Planning and scheduling (Preferable).
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations.
  • HR / IR exposure & understanding; including career path.
  • Ability to undertake quality risk assessments and lead team through high-risk work activities

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team in the Maintenance supporting reliable and efficient maintenance on large earthmoving equipment including Liebherr, Caterpillar & Komatsu Mining equipment.
  • This fleet will some of first of its kind to be transitioned to battery capable and Autonomous ready across 2025.
  • Maintain fleet availability and reliability above KPI targets.
  • Review and conduct weekly plan of service and backlog repairs.
  • Maintain maintenance facilities to high standards of organisation and cleanliness.
  • Ensure break down repairs are conducted safely and within timely manner.
  • Willingness to learn new disciplines and skills as part of Fortescue’s Green Fleet Transition.
