Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought leaders and therapeutic experts. A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Responsible for multiple operating services including employee moves, shipping and receiving, badge access security, building automation systems, building or equipment maintenance and repairs, janitorial services, and/or transportation services for an assigned site or function/s.
- Manages staff within a section or department, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of facility support staff. Issues schedules and delegates, reviews and checks work.
- Coordinates activities of vendors, including subcontractors, shipping and receiving, and mail services.
- Generates purchase requisitions and maintains records of expenditures.
- Recommends and implements procedures to improve service delivery.
EDUCATION
- High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years)
- 1+ year of leadership responsibility
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Strong managerial skills and the ability to mentor and motivate staff

- Basic understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, security, etc.)
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or light general construction may be required
