About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Heavy-Duty mechanic or Truck and Coach mechanic or relevant mining equipment Qualification
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervision role.Strong technical knowledge of mobile equipment systems and components.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure that equipment downtime is minimized and that production targets are met.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule equipment repairs and maintenance during planned downtime.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure that spare parts and consumables are available when needed
