REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety related filed. (infection prevention and control, occupational health , ergonomics) Joint Health and Safety Committee certification
- Related experience in a community or health care setting with understanding of industry trends.
- Solid knowledge of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (specifically Healthcare) and other applicable industry standards.
- Demonstrated experience with WSIB claims management process
- Demonstrated proficiency in communications, public speaking, group facilitation, organization skills and project management capabilities
- Knowledge of MS Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Workday, Outlook, MS Teams)
- Investigative, analytical and problem -solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to client and family centered care
Responsibilities:
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Responsible for identifying workplace hazards and trends in an industry and organizational wide basis.
- Oversee effective management of all aspects of WSIB claims, modified duties and return to work programs.
- Lead the Joint Health and Safety committees across organizations.
- Facilitate onboarding, and as-required supervisory training programs for health and safety purposes.
- Liaise with external agencies such as MOL, WSIB, and other safety organizations.
- Provide support, guidance ad supervisory oversight to our WSIB Claims Coordinator, front desk staff and modified workers engaged in corporate support services.
