QUALIFICATIONS

10 years of paper or pulp mill operations experience will be an asset
High school education or an equivalent of training and experience
Post-secondary education in related field an asset
Supervisory experience and / or training are considered an asset
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven decision making skills

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be accountable for :
Ensuring the rolls are packaged and shipped to meet customer requirements
Cost control and budgeting within the Finishing/Shipping process
Optimizing weight and minimizing transit damage through continuous coordination and dialog with carrier and transportation groups
Ensuring Finishing and Shipping crews are trained, developed and competent in the duties required in each of their positions
Ensuring all outbound loads meet or exceed safe loading guidelines as prescribed by the American Association of Railroads, CN Rail, The Railway Association of Canada, Transport Canada and others as required
Assisting in the production planning process and carrier scheduling to ensure smooth flow of product, and minimum inventory levels in the Warehouse
Developing audit processes to ensure order compliance and quality of finished product
Pursuing continuous improvement/efficiency objectives within the Finishing/Shipping process
Providing shift coverage for the Production & Transportation Department
Supervising approximately 20 employees on shift
Assisting the Production Manager in developing long term plans and capital needs.
