JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Design and Engineering, the Supervisor product engineer will be responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating the activities of technical product support employees with respect to the technical aspects of Cyclone products.

SKILLS AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, aluminum casting, extrusions, printed circuit boards, materials and finishing processes.
  • Experience and understanding of certification (UL, CSA).
  • Knowledge of photometry.
  • Creative and able to develop solutions quickly adapted to customer needs.
  • Adapts well to new technologies, software and lighting basics (photometry and LED technology and lighting).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, independent proactivity and leadership skills.
  • Excellent attitude and ability to adapt to our values of innovation, performance, teamwork, diligence and customer service.
  • Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA
  • Demonstrate skills for teamwork and good communicator.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX software would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the AASHTO standard would be an asset
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Good knowledge of SolidWorks software
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BAC in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 years or plus of relevant experience in the manufacturing field
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite
  • Proficiency in the English language

Responsibilities:

  • Support sales questions and requests and propose creative and viable solutions.
  • Responsible for management, motivation and mobilization of staff.
  • Clearly define customer requirements
  • Propose solutions respecting product certification.
  • Validate product designs using both software and various tests (mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical)
  • Analysis of resistance and capacity of pole and brackets according to standards and be able to sign and seal the analyses.
  • Be able to analyze photometric proposals as well as be able to sign and seal the analyses.
  • Project management.
  • Construction of models and prototypes.
  • Carry out employee evaluations
