The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University.
The Production and Data Center Operations team is responsible for providing various operational hardware and software support and maintenance as a shared service to both external and internal groups.
Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Application Support and Operations, the Supervisor, Production and Data Center Operations, receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates and student staff to complete assignments. Prioritizes tasks and assignments delegated by management and clients. Establishes procedural methods and policies to ensure smooth operations of routine services. Works on issues of limited scope. Requires full knowledge of functional and operational responsibility in Data Center and Production Operations. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the data center facilities, ensures the smooth functioning of the production workload and processes, and monitors systems. Works to maintain the efficiency, security, and reliability of the data center, while also providing support to the production team to ensure seamless operations.
