Commonwealth Stadium is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our team in managing the day-to-day operations of the venue. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our events and the satisfaction of our clients and guests.
The Manager, Stadium Operations and Events is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Commonwealth Stadium, Clarke Stadium, and Joe Clarke Athletic Grounds. This includes managing a team of approximately 300 staff, ensuring the safety and security of the facilities, and coordinating with event promoters and producers to ensure the successful execution of events.

Qualifications:
- Knowledge, training and/or education in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Business, Venue/Event Management, or a related discipline
- Progressively responsible supervisory/management experience in venue/event management, facility management, venue operations, or another related discipline
- Experience developing and implementing plans and processes across the line of busines
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of approximately 300 staff, including performance reviews, learning plans, and performance plans
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Commonwealth Stadium, Clarke Stadium, and Joe Clarke Athletic Grounds
- Ensure the safety and security of the facilities for all events and activities
- Evaluating and adjusting workloads, resources and priorities to achieve the vision and mission of the branch
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans
- Manage and maintain the Stadium’s annual operating budget
- Coordinate with event promoters and producers to ensure the successful execution of events
- Collaborate with other City departments, including Edmonton Transit, Edmonton Police, and Emergency Services
- Contribute to the development of capital development plans and facility master plans
- Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with event promoters and ensure appropriate facilities and specifications for national, international and professional sport partners
Qualifications:
- Knowledge, training and/or education in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Business, Venue/Event Management, or a related discipline
