Description:

DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Supervisor, Sterile Processing (SP) provides supervision and problem solving to staff, and provides day to day management of processes, supplies, and quality improvement projects of Sterile Processing to ensure the highest quality of services is delivered. Supervises regular, on-call and float staff. In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, negotiate and manage supply resources in conjunction with PSPH Purchasing. Oversee information systems necessary for SP functioning in conjunction with Information Services. Evaluate and assure new technology. Supervisor will be active clinically as well as manage the processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coursework/Training: Completion of a Central Supply Technician (or surgical technology) accredited course.
  • National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire.
  • National Certified Healthcare Leader - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire or
  • National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire.
  • 5 years Sterile Processing experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • 2 years Lead experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CHL Certification, Certification in Healthcare Leadership upon hire.
  • Experience in staff training and education.
