Description:

Staff365 are looking for a Supervisor Welder for our client in Rotherham who is responsible for the planning, coordination and overall control of the fabrication / welding department.
You will work closely with Shift Managers to ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest quality in the most economical and safe manner to meet tight delivery deadlines.
Salary: £35,000 – £37,000 DOE
Hours: 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday
Location: Rotherham

SPECIALIST SKILLS:

Skilled in welding techniques such as MIG & TIG.
Minimum of three years’ experience as a Fabrication Welder.
Knowledge of CAD.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings to check goods are manufactured correctly.
A good people manager used to managing your own workload and that of your team.
Experienced in the production of bespoke, tailor made products to meet customers’ needs.
Knowledge of raw materials used.

Responsibilities:

Responsible and accountable for all departmental employee’s health and safety performance and develop a work environment that encourages compliance with safety and employment regulations.
Reporting all productivity and issues to the Production Director on a daily basis.
Plan, delegate and supervise the workload of the fabrication team.
Setting and developing production targets.
Ensuring the correct materials and equipment are used at all times.
That all team members are meeting required target figures, if not investigate and consult with the team and Production Director if required.
Address and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
Costing production for sales, also the procurement of steel at competitive prices.
Ordering of parts and equipment.
Implementing 5S standards throughout the department.
Recognising training and development needs and liaising with the Production Director regarding the team’s further development.
Setting Machines and basic maintenance.
Ensure recycling is carried out to the agreed standard.
To liaise with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the maintenance of all machinery and equipment is carried out to keep it in good working order and maintained in accordance to H&S standards.
Be an advocate of continuous improvement.
Discuss with team members any issues / concerns (including medical) they may have and to consult further with the Production Director Manager if required.
Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the Production Director or Shift Manager in his absence.
Monitor and address issues around performance, attendance, punctuality, grievances and discipline in line with company procedures.
To identify any cost-effective measures for improving production.
To liaise with the external H&S advisor to ensure that we are up to date with all H&S Legislation, ensuring any changes to legislation are communicated with the entire team.
Ensure all records are maintained and recorded as required.
Holding regular toolbox talks and taking action on points raised.
Additional responsibilities
Assist in the covering of shifts in times of management holiday, sickness, training etc.
Assisting with stocktaking as required.
You are employed as a Fabrication Manager but you are expected if necessary to be willing to undertake other work of which you are capable of and for which you have trained or will receive training from the Company.
