The purpose of the Supplier Assurance Specialist is to help implement the Supplier Assurance Strategy from within Shared Services. You will manage supplier risk and compliance audits for Procurement & Supply Chain, ensuring there is management and control and ensuring compliance to legislative, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Input into the strategy by ensuring that existing and changes in key industry regulations, such as to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other legal, regulatory or risk management frameworks are communicated to the Supplier Assurance Manager with a view to implementation into the strategy review/processes.
  • Ensure that the external scope is tested and a full audit trail is available to explain any decision not to test a scope item.
  • Conduct due diligence assessments on suppliers, to provide visibility of potential risks before the onboarding of the supplier.
  • Ensure the consistency of risk classifications and reporting and identify any patterns or trends. Identify and refer serious single or trend issues to Supplier Assurance Manager.
  • Manage Stakeholders to ensure completion of assessment actions, ensuring that appropriate evidence is saved to support closure / resolution and a full audit trail is in place in all instances to support decisions.
  • Ensure changes in regulations and frameworks are incorporated into assessment practices.
  • Manage relationships with all partners to develop scopes, deliver the assessment schedule, and oversee issue closure.
  • Support the wider our requirements by responding to and providing a professional service to ad hoc assessment requests, above BAU work where this is deemed appropriate.
  • Achieve all required performance indicators, including volume of assessments, business and assessment reporting timescales, business feedback scores, and Audit the Auditor targets.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience within risk/audit/legal.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • High level of accuracy & attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation & influencing skills.
  • A strong commercial acumen
