JOB SUMMARY

The Supplier Operations Specialist position is responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and reliable supply base to support the company’s production and operational needs. This role involves supplier selections, evaluation, and performance monitoring. Position will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the company’s approved supplier list in accordance with company procedures. A successful Supplier Operations Specialist shall utilize communication skills and contextual information to provide solutions to challenges within the Supplier Operations Department.
This position’s internal job code is Supply Base Management Spec. Our team is currently hiring for a Level 1-2.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Very strong accuracy and attention to detail with ability to draw logical conclusions from minimal information
  • Excellent time management, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
  • Must be able to be self-sufficient and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP systems
  • Comfortable with learning, implementing, and adhering to DFAR, FAR, and ITAR regulations

SUMMARY PAY-RANGE

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

  • Level 1: $29.01 - $42.67
  • Level 2: $36.37 - $53.49

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluation of potential suppliers to determine their suitability for inclusion in the approved supplier list
  • Perform supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with company standards and industry regulations
  • Partner with internal customers to ensure completion of source selection and procurements that meet program requirements (schedule, cost, and quality); develop second/additional sources as needed
  • Regularly review and update supplier information, including contact details, performance metrics.
  • Work closely with procurement, supplier quality and varies departments to align supplier management strategies with company objectives
  • Identifies and communicates potential risks and issues
  • Gathers and reviews data for use in supplier performance evaluations
  • Utilize proactive communication with internal customers to share relevant order status
  • Assists in the development and implementation of supplier project plans to meet program requirements and financial goals
  • Positively mentor internal customer groups on best practices using formal training, one on one sessions, screen sharing or any other method that helps teams understand supply chain processes
  • Effectively communicate supplier policies to stakeholders and drive compliance
  • Gathers data to identify areas of risk, issues and improvement opportunities
  • Ability to identify, organize, and enter supplier and part trade compliance data into ERP system, such as HTS, NAICS, and business size details
  • Other duties as assigned
