1. Objective:
Drive activities required to meet cost, quality, inventory, delivery and cycle time objectives throughout the supply chain value stream. Measure suppliers, collaborate to develop process and product improvement plans, and enforce action measures as necessary to achieve business objectives. Works under regular supervision on moderately complex tasks.
2. Main Function Responsibilities:
A) Support the supplier assessment and selection process by conducting audits/assessments and ensuring the implementation of applicable requirements
B) Ensure that suppliers apply Safran requirements, such as APQP, PPAP, FMECA and risk analysis.
C) Ensure that products and services comply with quality requirements by planning and conducting monitoring actions from suppliers per the established auditing schedules.
D) Ensure proper management of non-compliances through trend analysis of supplier defects and taking appropriate action to drive resolution using the quality tools in ETQ.
E) Ensure supplier improvement by measuring supplier performance against the Safran established KPI thresholds.
F) Provide Purchasing with information to pass on poor-quality costs to suppliers
G) Ensure that performance improvement plans are implemented by suppliers and monitor the progression.
H) Promote the use of Safran tools and methods by supplier.
I) Promote quality culture.
J) Act as a quality correspondent for production transfers between suppliers and from Safran to a supplier and implement quality actions to ensure that customer and Safran requirements are met.
K) Investigate and disposition supplier non-conformance requests, provide feedback to the supplier with evidence of nonconformity.
L)Collaborate with Engineering on part design to prevent recurring build issues.
M) Support QRQC activities .
N) Perform other duties as assigned.
3, Education & Qualification:
A) Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing engineering, Industrial engineering or related technical field or 12 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.

COMPLEMENTARY DESCRIPTION

  1. Work Experience - Technical Knowledge:
    A) Additionally, two (2) years of related experience in a quality role.
    B) Knowledge of the Plan for Every Part process.
    C) Working knowledge of FAA regulations pertaining to supplier OEM process and products.
    D) Experience in implementation of continuous improvement systems and RCCA.
    E) Must be able to read and interpret average to moderately complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders and procedure manuals.
    F) Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.

  1. Professional Skills:
    A) Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
    B) Ability to solve moderately complex problems and think strategically.
    C) Perform work under direct supervision. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
    D) Must be able to work cross functionally.
  2. Behavioral Skills:
    A) Ability to take initiative, accept responsibility, adaptability-flexibility, work under pressure, autonomy, creativity and leadership.
    B) Acts in accordance with company values and related competencies.
  3. Desirable Aspects:
    A) Six Sigma or Lean fundamentals, or Green Belt certification, preferred.
