Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for driving improvements within Thermo Fisher Scientific and our supply-chain. The primary focus is to work with our key suppliers to ensure product quality. The SQE will implement and lead continuous improvement programs coordinating with our suppliers’ Senior and Executive management. The SQE uses data analysis, quality tools, project management, and leadership skills to drive ongoing, measurable improvements in supplier product quality. Key interactions will be with Suppliers, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Product Engineering and Global Technical Support.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate continuous quality improvement projects.
- Report results of these programs to executive management (e.g: Q&R lead, DLT members…).
- Lead critical quality issues as assigned.
- Investigate and define actions on identified quality issues with supplier modules / systems.
- Implement quality improvement actions and monitor the effectiveness.
- Create, maintain and improve Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures related to supplier quality improvement programs.
- Proven experience participating in technical projects.
- Proven knowledge with process improvements and methods. Experience with the use of statistical process control and statistical problem-solving methods, including Six-Sigma methods, is preferred.
- Great skills on providing clear and concise analysis of data and basic experimental methods.
- Self-starter who is also highly productive with limited supervision.
- Must function as a productive team member.
