The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for conducting Quality Management Systems audits and supplier performance evaluations at supplier locations to determine capability, as well as lead cross-functional teams and group of professional peers, providing guidance and recommendations on Sourcing decisions and supplier selection criteria for Supplier Qualifications. The person will also lead, coach, guide and evaluate supplied material investigations and corrective action efforts. The Supplier Quality Manager will lead management activities related to supplier performance and contingency and long-term improvement plans with forecasted impact. In addition, will lead cross-functionally to identify part and supplier risk for proactive mitigation activities. The individual must be a self-starting problem solver who will use their analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. Strong communication skills are required to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations, make progress reports and present findings. Must be able to influence and execute cross-functionally, summarize briefing / findings at an executive leadership level will be necessary for success.
This role operates in a leadership role and acts as a leader among his group of professional peers. In addition, trains, coaches and mentors Supplier Quality Engineers in key technical areas in quality methodologies and tools. Works independently and coordinates cross-functionally to accomplish assigned tasks and builds working relationships internally and externally.
