Calling on Supplier Relationship Manager
At Maersk Tankers, our purpose is to pioneer shipping solutions for our partners and the planet. We believe in the power of diversity and inclusion to make this happen, including providing equal opportunities for all. We offer a global and flexible workplace where passion and engagement are met with opportunities to pioneer professional and personal development.
Your opportunity to join the adventure
Building on a century of experience in vessel optimisation, Njord, a business under Maersk Tankers, empowers owners and charterers to boost their fleet efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint through a bespoke package of green technologies.
Decarbonising shipping is a pressing issue and while much is being done, substantial work lies ahead. Driven by environmental concerns and the need to meet stringent regulations, shipowners need to manage the transition to new green technologies. Maersk Tankers founded Njord to be that partner.
As our Supplier Relationship Manager based in Copenhagen you will be responsible for managing Njord’s commercial vendor relationships globally, ensuring we partner with the right suppliers and ultimately deliver best in class service to our clients.
Your key skills include negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, analytics and problem solving. Hereunder, as a person, you are seen as someone who:

- Consistently enforces the business optimization agenda with your stakeholders
- Are a skilled negotiator with experience from an international organization and you are proficient in managing a sourcing process, end to end
- Has extensive experience from a procurement related position, favorably within the maritime technology space
- Holds the ability to see several projects through to completion at the same time
- Can work independently having personal initiative and a strategic mind-set
- Possess business understanding with very proficient English skill
Responsibilities:
Our core services in Njord are to advise, select and engage various suppliers to install energy efficiency technologies on our client’s vessels. Ensuring that our supplier portfolio is of high quality with best commercial terms is therefore paramount to our business.
We are currently working with a broad range of energy efficiency technology suppliers, and in the role as Supplier Relationship Manager, your job will be to further enhance our supplier relationships by setting up and implementing an SRM strategy.
In detail, your main responsibilities will be:
- Define and implement our Supplier Relationship Management strategy
- Manage the strategic relationships between Njord and all our technology suppliers
- Ensure fit-for-purpose contract coverage
- Negotiate best possible terms for our clients (price, lead time, warranty, and other relevant commercial terms)
- Conduct supplier performance reviews with our Operations team and conduct performance dialogues with suppliers
- Search for and engage with new relevant suppliers in collaboration with our Technical and Operations team
- Manage large scale procurement projects when engaging suppliers for either multiple vessel projects or high CAPEX amounts
Are you part of the solution?
At Maersk Tankers, you can come as you are and be among people who will expand your horizon. As our new Supplier Relationship Manager, we do, however, expect that you can contribute with the following:
You come with a background as a Project Manager, Procurement Manager or Category Manager with approx. 3-5 years of experience within category management, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and/or contract management.
Your key skills include negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, analytics and problem solving. Hereunder, as a person, you are seen as someone who:
