Description
PPG Stowmarket produces Refinish paint for the use of car repair. Our paint is also used to spray items such as Wind turbines, farm machinery, Lorries and buses as examples. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain apprentice to join and learn within their team.
Responsibilities:
- To create production plans, procure raw materials and packaging, as well as managing inventory in a batch manufacturing environment.
- Ensure accurate and efficient production plans are created based on data drawn from the ERP system.
- Fully utilise production capacity in order to meet the weekly deadlines of the company production teams.
- Place purchase orders for raw materials in line with action messages from the Oracle system.
- Effectively plan and prioritise workload to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay of product availability and replenishment to other stocking locations.
- Manage inventory volume and value to ensure maximum stock turn and accurate MRP system.
Entry requirements
5 GCSE’s including Grade 4 in Mathematics and English. - Essential.
Training to be provided
- The learner will be studying the Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship standard qualification.
- Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider
Office based. Main aspects of role will be delivered on computer systems, with some phone and face to face interactions.
