Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in auditing or a related field.
  • Experience of working in the transport industry
  • A detailed understanding of Health and Safety within the workplace and operations
  • Analyses and Innovations – able to use available knowledge and locate and extract data to define, recommend and implement workable solutions to audit issues that arise
  • Ability to manage interaction and relationships between external and internal stakeholders on compliance issues.
  • Ability to plan, organise, implement and deliver audits with our suppliers

Although not essential the following would be beneficial;

  • ISO Internal Auditor or ISO Lead Auditor qualification is desirable
  • Proficiency in audit software and tools.
  • NEBOSH Qualified

Responsibilities:

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To promote collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to plan, implement and sustain the delivery of the Safety Management System across the business and to develop a planned programme of audits with our pool of operators including all Coach and Taxi Operators.
  • Working out in the field engaging Operators, completing a range of audits (face to face, remote or on-site) and providing feedback and supporting operators in implementing corrective actions where required to maintain and exceed expected SLA requirements.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient rail replacement service through a series of desk-based audit checks before or after the operation, satisfying all Arriva Group Assurance requirements. This may include audit checks on supplier compliance documentation, vehicle checks (particularly checking whether these are Public Service vehicle Accessibility Regulations 2000 (PSVAR (2000)) compliant), and any other relevant checks pertaining to the safe delivery of the on-the-ground operations

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES;

  • Responsible for timely organisation and delivery of effective audits on our external suppliers or coordinators in line with our contractual obligations.
  • To plan and undertake risk-based audits on our operators or visiting on-the-ground live operations to ensure that all aspects of Health and Safety and compliance are adhered to.
  • Coordinate with any audit report writing, post-audit debriefs, follow-up meetings and actions
  • Promote change initiatives within the Compliance and Safety department and across ARTS creating a culture which develops employees and supports our succession plans; managing the performance, training, qualifications and development of staff to secure their commitment, competence and to drive improvements in performance and results.
