Join our Group Procurement team as a Supply Chain Lead and you’ll help make this happen!
The Supply Chain lead involves sourcing suppliers for direct materials, developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, and collaborating with Strategic Business Units and the Central Procurement team to create and implement category strategies that align with business goals
We are open to base location for this role, Travel will be required regularly to various BB & Supplier offices sites.
What you’ll be doing
As Supply Chain Lead you will have the following accountabilities:
- Develop, Support and Implement Our Procurement Triple ‘A’ Framework: Support the creation and execution of frameworks for direct materials, ensuring alignment with business goals and sustainability objectives.
- Develop and Manage Category Plans: Create and manage comprehensive category plans that align with business strategy and sustainability objectives.
- Build and Maintain Preferred Supplier Network: Develop and manage a network of preferred suppliers to ensure high-quality and cost-effective procurement.
- Negotiate Agreements: Leverage Balfour Beatty’s market scale to negotiate favourable agreements with suppliers.
- Monitor Supply Market: Continuously monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers and products and meet with suppliers to understand their offerings.
- Track and Mitigate Risks: Identify and evaluate supply and cost risks within the category and develop mitigation plans.
- Conduct Materiality Assessments: Perform assessments to categorise supply chain risks and implement assurance activities, including checks, reviews, and assessments.
- Develop Strong Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to drive category strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Implement Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain processes for continuous improvement in supplier relationships.
- Focus on Performance and Value: Establish performance-led supplier relationships that focus on value for money, service and product quality, and continuous improvement.
- Exceed Service Expectations: Deliver an agile, value-adding service demonstrating understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge, and process efficiency.
