Description:
Daiken North America LTD is seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our Huntsville, ON facility, (formerly Panolam Industries LTD).
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, services, managing vendors, shipping, inventory, planning while ensuring that the supply chain activities align with the company objectives. This role is crucial for ensuring the high-quality and cost-effective procurement of goods, directly impacting our production capabilities and overall market success.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant work experience to include previous working experience as a purchasing manager
- Familiarity of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and data analysis
- Previous experience in log and/or paper purchasing preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Highly skilled in supplier assessment and development, contract bid evaluation, value analysis, and negotiation
- Excellent analytical abilities and proficiency in managing costs
- Proven experience in sourcing, logistics, inventory, planning and vendor management
- Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal team members
- Team leadership skills with abilities to effectively guide team members and encourage continuous improvement
Work Environment: Manufacturing Plant
Physical Demands: This job requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk on the production floor.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position Monday through Friday; some overtime may be required.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, lead and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies
- Forecast future production needs based on both historical data and planned usage
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers to include negotiation to achieve most beneficial terms
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, communicating expectations and resolving issues in a timely manner
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Develop and execute savings programs through supply chain and efficiency improvements
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Manage a team of procurement, logistics and planning professionals
