About the role
An exciting opportunity as a Supply Chain Manager is available in our Rolling Stock division of Metro Trains. The role involves material management, external suppliers relationship co-ordination, contract execution and management and supply chain processes to mobilise stores and spares holdings to support the commencement of maintenance activities for the new X’Trapolis 2.0 (XT2) train.
Please note this is a max term opportunity for 24 months based in Melbourne CBD.

Role responsibilities

  • Mobilise stores and spares holdings to support the commencement of XT2 maintenance activities
  • Identify material requirements (consumable, repairable) for new fleet
  • Implement supply chain agreements
  • Develop material stock holding strategy including stillages and stores setup
  • Adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Assist, review and implement efficiencies with regard to current practices used for material management
  • Interface with the procurement team and assist in the production of SOP
  • Develop inventory modelling for the XT2 fleet with initial and ongoing provisioning, and obsolescence management

Your skills and experience

  • Seasoned experience in a logistics and warehouse environment
  • Experience in Materials Management in a Supply Chain
  • Ability in developing and implementing procedures and policies on supply chain and inventory management
  • Proven experience developing, implementing and monitoring demand forecasts for consumables, rotables and repairables based on agreed service levels
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
