POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Planning Manager will design and refine processes that drive both strategic and tactical inventory forecasting, planning, and replenishment, ensuring a reliable supply throughout the Flanagan Foodservice DC Network. This position is essential in maintaining exceptional service standards for both internal and external stakeholders, while delivering on key business objectives.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills, skillfully balancing supply and demand to surpass performance goals for fill rates and inventory turns in a complex, fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in business, supply chain or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain Planning/Buying with a major retailer, global distributor, Food Service or food manufacturer.
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in a people-management role, within a fast paced supply chain environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Operations and Supply Planning practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems and forecasting and replenishment software such as JDA.
  • Experience with system implementations and upgrades.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, with advanced level in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, with proven time-management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to take initiative and work with a sense of urgency when faced with challenges.
  • Experience with negotiation and influencing the decisions of others.

UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Class G driver’s license and the use of a personal vehicle for work-related travel.
  • APICS certification preferred, CPIM, CSCP.
  • 6 Sigma/Lean certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing operations and implements the strategy to meet the organization’s requirements for network availability, fill rate, seasonal volume ramp, DC volume & capacity, Days On Hand and Spoilage.
  • Implement systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk and responding to changes in demand or disruptions to the supply chain.
  • Collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and management of inventory levels.
  • Implements systems and processes that utilize technical tools to analyze data to support changes in demand and inventory positioning.
  • Ensures that projects/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans and cost-saving/performance-driven initiatives for the department and the organization as a whole.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to satisfy customer demand and to mitigate financial risk to the organization.
  • Liaise with the Operations, Finance, Transportation, Category Management & Sales teams to remove bottlenecks and drive sales.
  • Drives inventory optimization initiatives, while collaborating with Category Management and Transportation to grow inbound freight revenue.
  • Update, develop, and maintain SOPs and processes for core tasks actioned by the department.
  • Drive fill rate and inventory management performance with the team, striving to achieve balance between industry leading fill rate and optimal inventory performance.
  • Provide management team support and back-up for vacations, unplanned absences or vacancies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
