Supply Chain and Procurement Operations Manager
Remote Working
Full Time 37.5 Hours
The Role
You will lead the ongoing development of the materials management function within hospitals, acting as business process owner for all materials management policies, processes and systems. To manage the administration support function, supporting the effective operation of all Procurement, SAP and Supply Chain support services. To identify operational and administrative procurement requirements and activities and support the development and implementation of appropriate policy, processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure a compliant and effective operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement materials management policies and operational processes to ensure the safe, efficient, compliant use of all materials in hospitals and improve the quality and overall effectiveness of the materials management function.
  • Develop and implement methods to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the materials management function.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices across all hospital inventory, that minimise sock levels while ensuring an excellent service and the continued, safe operation of the business.
  • Develop systems and processes to ensure visibility of stock levels (both owned and consignment)
  • Minimise stock wastage and obsolescence.
  • Act as the link between the Group Procurement function and materials management, ensuring alignment on policy, processes and solutions.
  • Improve overall supply chain performance and look for innovations to systems and processes
  • Represent the supplies management function in business projects and initiatives.-Act as a Business Partner, representing the UK procurement and supply chain function to other UK functions and sites. Have a visible presence in the business.
  • Develop and manage an effective Procurement Administration function, covering: Purchase Order Raising, Vendor/Product/Catalogue ff/contract sign off/New Product and Supplier Requests, Supplier due diligence systems (including One Trust and EcoVadis), Rostering team hours and leave and other general administration requirements
  • Develop and implement internal/external SLA’s/KPI’s to ensure SAP and Procurement queries are managed quickly and effectively.
  • Manage, coach and develop team members
  • Support the development of global procurement initiatives and their local delivery

What you will bring with you

  • 5+ years experience in inventory/materials management and/or related financial or operational roles at a senior level.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory/materials management principles and their practical application.
  • Familiarity with ERP and Inventory Management systems and financial budgeting processes
  • Highly motivated with a “can-do/will-do” attitude.
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines
  • Advanced Computer Skills (particularly Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Demonstrated Customer Service skills in line with the Ramsay Way Vision and Values

Desirable experience

  • Hospital stores management experience
  • Hospital operational management experience
  • Proficient in the use of SAP or similar
  • Development and implementation of inventory and materials policies and processes

Essential qualifications

  • A Levels + 5+ years “hands-on” inventory management experience as above

Desirable qualifications

  • Relevant industry qualification, such as, Supply chain management, Business management, Finance, Computing (ERP), information systems and logistics management.
