ABOUT US:

As Airbus Defence and Space, we are at the forefront of defining ‘Future Space’ for our customers, enabling their business case with our technical solutions. The commodity management team works alongside the business to bring competitive value from our suppliers (Technical, Commercial, industrial), in ethical and sustainable partnerships with our suppliers.
The internship will be within the Payload Products Commodity group. We manage all sourcing activities for Payload equipment and products for a number of platforms across all business lines for Airbus Defence and Space. This includes Telecommunication, Earth Observation and Navigation Satellites (GEO/MEO/LEO orbits), High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (HAPS) and Satellites constellations. Activities range from market research, defining sourcing strategies, getting supplier Proposals, negotiating supplier contracts and managing supplier business relationships for Airbus.

Responsibilities:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include:

  • Provide support in Commodity Management tasks through active management of internal knowledge repositories;
  • Provide support for market surveys, including documenting supplier data in terms of their capability, financial information, and organization;
  • Management of market cost database that could be used for both standard and non-standard products;
  • Survey the market for upcoming conferences and highlight potential companies of potential interest;
  • Support to tendering and supplier selection processes in line with business needs;
  • Accountable for the whole Procurement process with the support of the multi-functional team;Develop and implement commodity strategies in order to ensure short and long term competitiveness, and ensure consistency on all Procurement actions for the commodity.
