Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the supply chain processes, including sourcing, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution. This role involves working closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments to ensure that products and materials are delivered on time and meet quality standards. The Supply Chain Specialist also analyzes supply chain performance and implements improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Logistics Coordination: Manage transportation and logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and partners and oversee warehousing operations.
  • Procurement: Source materials and services, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure that procurement processes align with company standards.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze current supply chain processes and implement improvements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier delays, quality issues, or disruptions.
  • Data Analysis: Use data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports, and make data-driven decisions to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, finance, sales, and customer service, to align supply chain activities with business goals.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage supply chain management software, ERP systems, and other technologies to monitor and improve supply chain processes.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies (with Director) to identify and select suppliers that can provide the organization with the best quality products or services at competitive prices. Address all indirect expenses and create purchase orders. Set and monitor Kanban levels.

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical school with 2 or more years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of legal and ethical procurement practices.
