For people recovering from illness, or who are facing a recent diagnosis, being able to stay in their own home can make all the difference. Our Support at Home Volunteers help with shopping, getting to appointments or checking in with a phone call. Spread the power of kindness with us and help make a difficult and distressing time a little bit easier. We are looking for someone who is able to: - Volunteer at least 4 hours a week from Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 17:00 pm. - For at least 6 months - Live within 1 hour travel time to Croydon University Hospital (CR7 7YE) - Good conversational skills both verbal and written essential - Are available to undertake the required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions within the first few months of volunteering plus other specific training as required. - Good access to the internet / IT equipment and to be able to use IT to complete the training & onboarding processes. Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Diversity is something we celebrate.
