Description:

JOB SUMMARY – WHAT TO EXPECT:

As the Support Controls Engineer, you will be supporting the lens making machinery and controls systems across multiple sites working closely with Machine Operators, Maintenance and IT on a daily basis.
You will provide controls expertise to the business, supporting controls related breakdowns, driving continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis and assisting in the development of other engineering support departments through coaching, training and mentoring.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work in a Regulated Environment and conform to the requirements of ISO13485, ISO14971 etc.
  • Provide controls support expertise to Manufacturing Support groups, to identify and rectify controls related breakdowns
  • Further improve controls system through identifying root cause for issues and generating improvement plans to drive continuous improvements
  • Maintain Software Change Control logs
  • Provide technical support to configure, populate and support OEE data collection.
  • Assist Manufacturing Support Group development through coaching, mentoring and training on control systems and platforms across UK Manufacturing
  • Assist in the design and development, implementation, documentation, validation and support of controls systems for new processes and Engineering changesMaintain good communication with Manager and other members of team to ensure that improvement plans are actioned and followed

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for someone who demonstrates the behaviours of a team player who is motivated, displays good time management with the ability to think clearly and multi task. Specifically we would like you to have the following experience:

  • Experience in a similar engineering role eg Business Unit Engineer, Maintenance Support Engineer etc.
  • Proven competence with SCADA and PLC controls systems for automated equipment
  • Experience of ISO/ FDA software validation requirements, audits and change control
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment, preferably medical device or pharmaceutical fields
  • HND or Equivalent Experience in Electrical/Electronic/Controls disciplineUnderstanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems, medical device/pharmaceutical, FDA, GAMP, ISO and International regulatory requirements
