Description:
COME AND JOIN ONE OF THE UK’S LARGEST INDEPENDENT PROVIDERS IN NEURO AND MENTAL HEALTHCARE. WE PROUDLY EMPLOY OVER 4000+ PEOPLE.
We’d like you to join us as a Support Worker at our service Granville Lodge in Hartlepool.
We have an amazing opportunity for Support Workers to join our caring and support team at our Granville Lodge service in Hartlepool, supporting children and young people who cannot be cared for at home, most commonly because they need a high level of skilled care.
A full clean driving licence and willingness to transport our children and young people in the company mini bus would be an advantage but not essential.
We believe Granville Lodge is a special place. It is purposely small, just nine beds, and is located in an adapted Victorian house in a quiet residential street in Hartlepool. Whilst the children staying with us have clinical needs, we have taken great care to ensure our centre still feels like a family home. Children staying with us permanently can decorate their own rooms, just as they can at home, and we encourage our young people, wherever possible, to be part of the running of their home and to try out new experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping the child’s safety and well being paramount and at the centre of your practice
- Build positive relationships with our children and young people, which are open and two way
- Support our children and young people to make progress in every area of their lives
- Contribute towards the planning and delivery of child centred care plans, working alongside all other agencies involved with the child
- Maintain accurate records
- Establish methods of communication with our children and young people, reducing barriers when necessary
- Assist with mealtimes where necessary
- Support with activities of daily living and personal care
