We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker who has a level 3 or above to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including children’s residential. This role involves supporting children with daily activities, managing behaviours, and ensuring their overall well-being.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in patient care, home care, or childcare is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of hospice care practices is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and dignity at all times.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to children including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
  • Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety.
  • Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
