Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Sloss Service is a double staffed house located in Halswell at the Hohepa Farm; you will be supporting four men aged between 25 to 49 alongside a colleague. They enjoy having a good laugh with one another in a positive environment with some good practical jokes!
Sloss Service enjoys attending the Hōhepa Festivals, swimming, going for drives in the car and helping with the cooking. The men have varying intellectual disabilities such as autism and down syndrome with different support styles.
You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space. Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.
This position’s salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.

- Wednesday 3pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
- Thursday 3pm to 8pm
- Friday 3pm to 8pm
- Saturday 3pm to 8pm
