QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A strong commitment to assisting those in need in the community.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with the elderly and people with disability.
  • The ability to understand and respond appropriately to clients’ needs and expectations.
  • The ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Australian work rights / appropriate visa.
  • Accredited first aid and CPR training.
  • Current WA driver’s licence (C Class - Essential / LR Class - Desirable) and PTDA.
  • Current National Police Check (not older than 6 Months).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Dementia training.
  • Experience working with volunteers.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for friendly, trustworthy and caring people, wanting to join like-minded colleagues who are making a difference to the lives of others.
We are seeking a Support Worker (Social Support Group) to join our team focused on the East/South East Metropolitan area, based in Guildford. The Social Support Group is a program which facilitates group outings and community engagement.

ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Drive People Who Care buses to transport our clients (12 seater) and assist throughout the day.
  • Ensure that appropriate client records and data on services is maintained.
  • Assist with regular evaluations of client need and service delivery.
  • Assist the Service Coordinator with the required admin tasks (if needed).
  • Maintain vehicle upkeep by regularly washing and vacuuming.
  • Assist the transport team with individual support (if necessary).
