Why this role matters
The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).
William Booth House (WBH) is located on Gadigal lands in Surry Hills. It offers a withdrawal unit and residential rehabilitation. The services operate in a four-storey building with roof top courtyard, which is wheelchair accessible and easily accessible by all forms of public transport.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Support Worker Team Leader to lead an effective and high functioning team of multi-disciplinary staff to deliver person-centred, high quality residential AOD services.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Surry Hills. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

You will successfully

  • Oversee the day to day operations of service delivery.
  • Ensure service delivery targets and organisational standards are achieved and funding body requirements are met.
  • Deal with referred complaints.
  • Line manage and supervise Support Workers and Senior Support Worker.
  • Build and maintain strong referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders, resulting in beneficial outcomes for participants.
  • Facilitate educational sessions with local school groups as required.

You will have

  • A degree qualification in AOD, community services or related field or demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service, and study/development.
  • Relevant experience in supervising staff.
  • A current NSW Driver License.
