Description:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE SUPPORTABILITY ENGINEER:
- Experience of working within engineering/projects to create visuals, diagrams and produce concise reports
- Extensive experience of working with Microsoft Office suite programmes
- Demonstrable experience of data analytics
- Extensive experience of using Microsoft Office suite of programmes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to operate within a multi-discipline team, considering the demands and impacts of various internal and external stakeholders across the entire submarine lifecycle
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SUPPORTABILITY ENGINEER:
Ideally HND/Foundation Degree or equivalent qualification supplemented by relevant experience in an appropriate engineering discipline

THE ROLE
As a Supportability Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will working within a leading design influence national team of Engineers and Designers within the Nuclear Sector of Babcock. Helping to improve the support solution and maintenance for future Royal Navy Submarines.
Day-to-day, you’ll be working within the Design Influence team to highlight risks, opportunities and requirements evidence and feeding in learning from experience to help improve submarine design and supportability through life.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for developing a reporting mechanism for presenting Supportability Checklist (SCL) progress completion, highlighting trends and analysing results
- Assisting with the management of risks to delivering the Maintenance Upkeep and Operating Cycle (MUOC).
- Active engagement with BAE’s toolsets
- Be responsible for raising, updating and general management of support opportunities working with our industrial partners
- Manage the interface between the build schedule and the design influence schedule
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
