Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Supportive Care Consultant is responsible for providing information, support and service referrals via telephone and face to face interactions with people diagnosed with cancer, their family and members of the community, in addition to contributing to the day-to-day operations of the Rockhampton Hub.
This role also plays a pivotal part in developing and maintaining relationships with health professionals to build awareness of CCQs services, programs and
available opportunities to support all Queenslanders navigating cancer. This role is an administrative/client focused role not a clinical role.
This role is a Permanent Full-time position, required to work five days per week. You may be occasionally required to work outside normal business hours to attend events, meetings or presentations on evenings or weekends.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Qualifications in Nursing, Allied Health or Health Promotion/Education.
  • A good understanding of the health/community services sector.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with members of the health profession
  • Ability to manage, inspire and motivate individuals and teams to achieve targets.
  • Organisational skills including the ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Experience in leading and motivating individuals with exceptional skills in organisation and project management.
  • Experience in the provision of supportive care and an interest in working closely with people affected by cancer.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with people from all levels of the community.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application and use of Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and to manage workloads within tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and resilience.
  • Current Queensland Driver Licence is required
