Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Crew Chief and through to the Project Manager the Survey Assistant will assist the Crew Chief with all aspects of field operations including; operating survey equipment, pipe locators, trucks, ATV’s and snowmobiles. Although this position reports directly to the Crew Chief the Assistant will also work with construction personnel, land owners, stake holders, clients as well as in house staff. This position represents the company and its core values with honesty and integrity.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Effective written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid Class 5 License
· Current First Aid/CPR

Responsibilities:
· Competently able to use and understand the RTK, Total Stations and all field equipment
· Transport survey equipment from the vehicle to each job site
· Responsible for completing documentation including but not limited to:
ü Truck inspection reports
ü Daily Hazard Assessments
ü Daily paperwork associated with tailgate meetings
ü Near Miss & Incident Reports (if able) and to assist with any ensuing investigations
· Lead navigation to and from the worksite each day, including planning the best route and ensuring the driver is able to adhere to all Distracted Driving Laws
· Ensure that the crews equipment inventory is updated at all times and that any changes to the inventory list is submitted to the Equipment Coordinator
· Assist in organizing and maintaining safety equipment and vehicles, helping to ensure that the truck is organized and tidy at all times
· Report and unsafe acts, conditions or practices to the respective Crew Chief and the company Safety Manager
· Ensure all requirements under Precision’s Health and Safety Program are followed and adhered to while working both on and off each worksite
· Always have the clients’ interests at the forefront of each job
· Assist in ensuring that Precisions commitment to our clients of quality and cost effective services are delivered to the client
· Drive Survey truck to and from worksite as required
· Other duties as assigned
