DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking a detailed oriented and client focused individual for the position of Survey Electronics/Information Technology Technician. A key to success for this position is the ability to collaborate with offshore and onshore personnel. The Survey ET/IT Technician will report to the Project Manager. We are looking to expand our survey team to support ongoing long-term multi-year international and local projects. Expected 4 to 6 week rotation.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post Secondary Education in Electronics, IT, Hydrographic Survey or Geomatics

(Experience can compensate for lack of formal competency)

  • Experience within Oil & Gas/Renewables Industry is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite - Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Document Control Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain survey equipment throughout offshore operations.
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment; provide inventory listings, and equipment fault reports.
  • Responsible for the installation and testing of survey equipment and systems, as well as the project maintenance of survey equipment and systems.
  • Must manage all survey/ROV interface cables.
  • Shall notify the Party Chief / Project Manager of any non-serviceable survey equipment.
  • Commission, calibrate and decommission all survey equipment to the satisfaction of the Offshore Manager/Party Chief.
  • Ensure the safe operation of survey equipment and systems.
  • Accountable for the offshore tracking of project equipment and for the demobilization and shipping of survey equipment.
  • Must support the on-line surveyor during operations.
  • Maintain equipment logs and inventories.
  • Prepare and maintain cabling and interface diagrams.
  • Monitor instruction and performance of other junior technicians
  • Communicate, on a daily basis, with the Party Chief.
