About You / What We Are Looking For
As a member of our Engineering and Public Works Geomatics team, you will undertake advanced level technical field survey work involving projects of larger size and complexity. You will operate Total Stations, GPS and related equipment in pre-construction, construction, as-constructed, mapping, legal and topographical surveys. In addition, you will participate in the planning and direction of the Survey Assistants’ work.
Along with a team-player attitude and 2-5 years of relevant experience, you have (or are in the process of obtaining) a diploma in Geomatics or a related area of study. In addition to a background in advanced level technical field survey work, preferably in a surveying environment, you have hands-on expertise with a range of surveying equipment, strong computer abilities, attention to detail and accuracy, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A valid driver’s license is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of the 12th school grade
- Courses in surveying
- Sound experience in municipal survey work and/or legal survey work or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid BC driver’s licence or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered or ability to register with the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $37.56 - $44.20 (2024 rates). The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
