SURVEY TECHNICIAN/ ENGINEER (RENTALS) - VR/30330

Status: Permanent

We are looking to support our client in their recruitment drive for a Survey Technician. This is a permanent staff role based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
The successful candidate will report to the Workshop Manager and will be responsible for ensuring our rental equipment is maintained to a high standard and ready for deployment.
In addition to working in the Aberdeen base, this role will require work away from the base and will involve working in other client sites as well as client vessels. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in electronic engineering principles, techniques and practices with offshore survey experience using geophysical positioning or ROV equipment.

OVERVIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Preparing and testing of equipment prior to rental and post hire.
  • Function testing, software/firmware updates, cable integrity.
  • Ensuring completeness of equipment against packing lists.
  • Checking, inspecting, and documenting equipment returned from hire.
  • Visual inspection, function testing and writing technical reports.
  • Identifiying of in-house or external repair tasks.
  • Preparing all assets to ensure they are ready for delivery to clients at short notice.

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of electronic engineering principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Experience in working with survey equipment.
  • Experience of asset tracking databases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work remotely with relevant IT access.
  • Knowledge of interfacing survey sensors with Acquisition Software.
  • Ability to work unsupervised on basic projects.
  • Ability to operate survey equipment as part of a Mobilisation Survey Team.
  • The successful candidate must hold a Full UK Driving licence.
  • Any Previous ROV Hydraulic Tooling would be advantageous but not essential.
