Description:
Put off by the idea of working in an office 9 - 5? This opportunity is aimed at individuals who are finishing up High School and are looking for an apprenticeship.
A Survey Field Assistant role could be the perfect opportunity for you, one that can open up options to develop a rewarding long-term career in Surveying.
At BCD Group we have a small team of surveyors in Hamilton and Tauranga and we are looking for someone to join our Hamilton team in full time permanent employment.
Day to day you will be out in the field helping our surveyors with tasks such as:
- Cadastral surveys (the method used to determine and adjust land boundaries).
- Topographical surveys (the method used to map countours of land while capturing above and below ground information).
- Setting out survey jobs.
- Using the 3D scanner.
To be considered for the role you must be proficient at maths, have an interest in technology, enjoy physical work and be able to drive a manual vehicle. Our team get to explore a wide variety of sites around the mid north island region and no two days will be the same.
Over the years we have had great success in training people in this position and supporting them through further study if they decide they want to advance their career. This can be achieved by completing a diploma through Tech part time or heading off to Otago to complete a Bachelor of Surveying, knowing they have a job during and at the end of their degree
Responsibilities:
- Cadastral surveys (the method used to determine and adjust land boundaries).
- Topographical surveys (the method used to map countours of land while capturing above and below ground information).
- Setting out survey jobs.
- Using the 3D scanner
