Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with experience in an analytical discipline such as accounting, finance, business, economics or mathematics
- 0-2 years of experience
- An interest in sustainability and how it factors into investment decisions
- Work towards CFA a plus
- Strong Excel skills and experience using Bloomberg
- Familiarity with MSCI, ISS, FACTSET a plus
- Strong interest in financial analysis, research, and the ability to source new information and offer insights
- Adept learner who is organized and able to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment
- Solid writing and solid presentation skills
- Excels in a team environment - proactive, collaborative, and collegial
- Positive attitude, takes direction well and embraces feedback
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, changing environmen

About the Role
The Sustainability Associate will conduct sustainability analysis, and provide analytical support to the Chief Sustainability Officer, Associate Director and Analysts. The associate will also support ESG integration with the investment teams and analysts. The associate will also maintain various investment databases and liase with outside ESG data providers. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the continued integration of sustainability into the investment process and collaborate with investment teams in responding to climate transition and other sustainability risks and opportunities.
About the Team
The Loomis Sayles Sustainability team works in partnership with the investment teams, analysts, legal team and distribution teams to provide sustainability integration, based on financial materiality in service of our fiduciary duty to our clients. We do this using our 4 integration themes: Research, Valuation, Engagement and Client Focus. (Loomis Sayles Sustainable Investing Philosophy). Loomis Sayles provides custom solutions for our clients globally and the sustainability team works closely with various parts of the organization in providing solutions to our client sustainability focused objectives. All members of the Sustainability Team are located in the Boston office.
Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to sustainability integration across various asset classes fundamental as part of a collaborative team led by the Chief Sustainability Officer
- Become expert in sustainability data and liase with our outside data providers, leveraging external and proprietary data to maintain internal systems
- Report and analyze fixed income and equity engagement data for both internal and external use
- Compile and analyze industry and company sustainability data using Excel, PowerPoint and internal applications. Create and maintain foundational infrastructure instrumental in helping investment teams and analysts conduct sustainability research
- Prepare information and data needed by senior leadership as Loomis Sayles
- Respond to ad hoc projects in support of the CSO, Associate Director and Sustainability Analysts
