Sustainability Communications Assistant (Internship)

We’re looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual to help us meet and communicate our ambitious sustainability progress and goals.
The University of Sheffield has ambitions to be one of the most sustainable research universities in the country. We’re in the process of developing our next sustainability strategy, involving colleagues and students from across the University.
You will play a central role in our sustainability governance structure; organising and attending meetings of connected sustainability staff, students and academics to keep track of projects and drive forward improvements. You will help to coordinate projects between teams and be central to work on our next sustainability strategy by working closely with our strategy development groups.
We need someone with great organisational skills who can keep track of a variety of projects and tasks at once. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ideally experience of writing news stories, case studies and copy for social media and websites. You need to be comfortable working with staff at all levels and be able to use your own initiative to solve problems.
You will have the opportunity to work across communications disciplines, getting exposure to skills and knowledge from various marketing communications specialisms within the Corporate Communications department, such as media relations, social media, internal communications and videography.
