Responsibilities:
Are you looking to make a big difference to how Bournemouth University manages energy, water and carbon? Do you have an analytical approach and like using data to inspire action and measure progress? Are you interested in data reporting and carbon footprinting? If so, we can offer you a supportive team environment where you can further develop your skills.
You will be working in an established Sustainability team, where we work together with the Facilities Management and Capital Development teams helpping Bournemouth University reduce it’s environmental impact. We have a well embedded approach to environment and energy management with systems certified to ISO14001 and ISO50001 meaning we have policies, procedures, and ways of working in place which help reduce our impacts. The core part of your role is to anaylse data from our systems to inform day-to-day operational interventions and to recommend projects which will reduce energy and water consumption. We have systems in place which will provide you with the data and we are looking for you to bring your analytical skills and interest in sustainability to translate the learnings from the data into our wider estates activities reducing our environmental impact. This role forms part of our evolving Intelligent Campus approach whereby we are striving to further optimise energy and water usage informed by smart enabled systems and sensors.
You will bring your analytical skills, problem solving ability and passion for sustainability and energy to the role. You can bring these skills from a variety of previous roles, and we will support and train you to develop your skills further. You will be the owner of the data we submit for our carbon emissions reporting, so will be learning all about scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions data and how this is reported. You will be a key person in our Sustainability Team helping to track the University’s progress against its net zero emissions goal for 2030/31. Any experience of this will be useful however we will providing training where necessary. We are looking for you to demonstrate in your application and interview your experience and skills in data analysis and your willingness to learn.
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.
