EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business, ideally complemented with a postgraduate qualification in Sustainability.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience, with at least 3 years in an ESG role focused on sustainability policy.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional ESG initiatives and achieving independent accreditation.
  • Industrial experience is preferred over purely business or consulting backgrounds.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Strong ethical values driving motivation and behavior.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and quality deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in implementing sustainability policies and initiatives.
  • Ability to engage and learn about technical and business topics.
  • Strong in cross-functional collaboration and business change for sustainability.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, and comfortable with data analysis.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

This role reflects the increasing importance of sustainability as the business expands. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) policy and implementing strategies aligned with the company’s ESG Council. This includes ensuring compliance with ESG regulations and reporting requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the activities of the ESG Council, ensuring that workstreams are actively pursuing the annual ESG plan.
  • Consolidate updates from workstreams for ESG Council communication and facilitate the development of ESG strategy.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor sustainability policies and programs that align with the company’s ESG strategy, vision, mission, and values.
  • Conduct sustainability assessments, identify material issues, set goals and targets, and develop action plans.
  • Establish an ESG operating framework and integrate ESG awareness into all business aspects.
  • Lead the ESG Risk Assessment using Materiality Analysis and co-ordinate Carbon Reduction Goals using Science-Based Decision Making.
  • Engage with employees, customers, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders to understand concerns and communicate sustainability performance.
  • Represent the company in relevant sustainability networks, forums, and events.
