Sustainability Expert (m/w/d) for Edge-Cloud Ecosystem

IHRE AUFGABE

• Energy Efficiency Optimization: Collaborate with hardware/software engineers to select and optimize components that reduce power consumption and carbon footprint
• Develop metrics/benchmarks to assess energy performance, identify areas for improvement
• Sustainability-focused Orchestration: Search for software orchestration strategies that prioritize sustainability in resource allocation, workload management, and data processing. Work closely with software developers which design algorithms and frameworks that dynamically adjust resources based on real-time energy consumption data and workload requirements
• Edge-Cloud Integration: Lead initiatives to optimize the interplay between edge devices and cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration that maximizes energy efficiency. Develop strategies for distributing workloads between edge and cloud environments to minimize latency, reduce energy consumption, and enhance overall system sustainability
• Collaboration and Advocacy: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, as hardware engineers, software developers, data scientists and architects to integrate sustainability goals
• Innovation and Research: Research feasibility studies on emerging technologies and methods that could further enhance the sustainability of the Edge-Cloud ecosystem. Lead pilot projects to test new approaches in real-world environments and analyze results
