Reports to (Position): Head of Sustainability & CSR
Department/Function: Sustainability & CSR
Purpose of the Job: For our Sustainability and CSR department, we are looking for a Sustainability Manager, based in Amsterdam. You will be part of global Sustainability and CSR team. In this role, you will support Apollo Europe sustainability efforts or initiatives by ensuring environmental, social, and economic responsibilities that will curb carbon emissions, ensure social responsibility, and favour green sustainable solutions/investments to comply with the regulatory requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and implement sustainable strategies, framework and practices across Europe aligned with the Global Sustainability Function to ensure environmental, social, and economic responsibilities are met.
  • Support in implementing an integrated approach across the business functions to achieve sustainable growth in line with Apollo’s ESG strategy. Support in reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions as well as the company’s emissions reduction target, with continued improvements
  • Collaborate with the senior management and executive team to integrate sustainability into overall business strategy and operations.
  • Manage external consultants on projects related to ESG or sustainable product design as well as internal teams focused on energy conservation initiatives and other ESG initiatives
  • Benchmark on best practices, emerging trends, and risks related to sustainability and present to Global function to align all activities.
  • Implement a sustainability communication strategy to promote awareness and engagement within the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Support in managing data collection and compilation for ESG reporting and assurance. Collaborate and work to implement CSRD reporting framework in Europe.
  • Coordinate sustainable supply chain, CSR, D&I initiatives and projects as and when needed aligned with global Sustainability.
  • Identifies and explore emission reduction projects with teams. Works out the business case in collaboration with operations
  • Identify and coordinate ESG awards and recognition applications.
  • Manage, coach, and guide a team of 1 direct report.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Univeristy degree qualified in an environmental, engineering, sustainability, or other related subject. Professional certifications related to ESG, sustainability are a preferable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environment management / legislations. At least 3 years of experience in Renewable energy sector is preferable.
  • Relevant technical experience and knowledge of whole-life carbon assessment, , climate risk management, decarbonisation roadmap for large-scale portfolios.
  • Experience with carbon calculations, corporate sustainability and/or ESG reporting.
  • Good understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework that ensure identification, assessment and management of sustainability-related risks.
  • Strong knowledge of European ESG regulations, EU Green deal and associated legislations.
